 Colin’s specific areas of interest focus upon the primary care/local authority interface; integrating both adult and children’s services; developing Non-Executive Directors/Boards to improve governance and accountability; and organisation change issues.

 Recent Career History

Colin was the Chief Executive of Darlington PCT until December 2009.  Whilst retaining full PCT accountability for all functions a specific emphasis was on the development of community health service options ahead of ‘Transforming Community Services’ and ensuring appropriate governance models were developed to support this.  Prior to joining the NHS, Colin had more than 20 years local government experience including 6 years as Director of Social Services and therefore has a rare experience base of operating across the important health/social care interface – significant experience in context of new Governments policy direction.

 Consultancy experience

 Colin joined Dearden Consulting in April 2010 and has already been involved in developing strategic community provider options for a large Foundation Trust.
